Comedy Book: Book Review Assignment

For this month's book review, I will ask you to enter the world of Internet interaction!

You've read a book that was supposed to be funny. Great! Now, I want you to do a few things online. Here's what you need to do:

Please create your own POST that provides the following information about the book you read.

1. The TITLE and AUTHOR.
2. A BRIEF SUMMARY of the book -- make it understandable to someone who has not read your book but short and to the point.
3. An EVALUATION -- what did you think of it? Was it good (worth getting) or was it bad (worth overlooking)? Please include WHY you think so.
4. A RECOMMENDATION -- who should read this book? That is, who is the "perfect audience" for this book, and don't forget to explain WHY.

Then, once other students have begun posting their online reviews, please do the following:

Please respond to at least TWO other students' blogs.

Your response should conform to the following guidelines:

1. It should be a thoughtful, positive addition to the ongoing discussion.
2. You should write something appropriate -- remember the rule of online behavior -- never write anything that would embarrass your grandmother!
3. It should demonstrate effort and thought. Your response post should be several sentences long (a word or phrase response will not count for this assignment).
4. You should ask a question or make a statement in order to engage the reviewer in a discussion.

Lastly, as the POSTER of an online review, please RESPOND to your classmates' comments/responses to your original post.

Please begin posting your posts and responses beginning on Thursday, April 28, 2011. The discussion will continue until Sunday, May 8, 2011. You should be able to make your posts and responses in that time frame. Thank you for your participation.
