Comedy Book: Book Review Assignment

For this month's book review, I will ask you to enter the world of Internet interaction!

You've read a book that was supposed to be funny. Great! Now, I want you to do a few things online. Here's what you need to do:

Please create your own POST that provides the following information about the book you read.
  1. The TITLE and AUTHOR.
  2. A BRIEF SUMMARY of the book -- make it understandable to someone who has not read your book but short and to the point.
  3. An EVALUATION -- what did you think of it? Was it good (worth getting) or was it bad (worth overlooking)? Please include WHY you think so.
  4. A RECOMMENDATION -- who should read this book? That is, who is the "perfect audience" for this book, and don't forget to explain WHY.
Then, once other students have begun posting their online reviews, please do the following:

Please respond to at least TWO other students' blogs.

Your response should conform to the following guidelines:
  1. It should be a thoughtful, positive addition to the ongoing discussion.
  2. You should write something appropriate -- remember the rule of online behavior -- never write anything that would embarrass your grandmother!
  3. It should demonstrate effort and thought. Your response post should be several sentences long (a word or phrase response will not count for this assignment).
  4. You should ask a question or make a statement in order to engage the reviewer in a discussion.
Lastly, as the POSTER of an online review, please RESPOND to your classmates' comments/responses to your original post.

Please begin posting your posts and responses beginning on Thursday, April 28, 2011. The discussion will continue until Sunday, May 8, 2011. You should be able to make your posts and responses in that time frame. Thank you for your participation.

  25. Hello! This is Cainan with my blog about The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. This book follows the life of a boy named Arnold Spirit Jr., a 14-year-old boy who lives on a Native American reservation and leaves the school on the reservation to go to a different school. The school that Arnold, or Junior as he likes to be called goes to is mainly populated by white kids, and he is very different. Not only because he is Native American, but because he is poor, was born with too much cerebral spinal fluid in his skull, and has a stutter and a lisp. His best friend, Rowdy, hates him at first for going to a different school, and Arnold joins the school's basketball team. For a while he is very happy. Sadly, his sister grandma, and father's best friend who is like an uncle to him all die in alcohol-related incidents. His grandmother gets run over by a drunk driver, his sister gets her house burned down by a drunk person, but is too drunk herself to wake up, and his father's best friend gets shot by his best friend over the last drink out of a bottle of wine. In the end, he and Rowdy make up and are friends again, and he is the happiest he has been in a long time. I really enjoyed this book. In fact, it may have been my favorite monthly book so far. It was really funny and the story line was very engaging. i would recommend this book to anyone who appreciates comedy. But I would also direct it at a somewhat mature audience. it had some alcohol-related incidents, some swearing and some inappropriate content for younger audiences. Well, my hands are tired from typing, so that's all for now. Please comment on this post and tells others about it even if you don't. Goodnight everybody!!!

This book is pretty much about a kid who got accused of stealing a pair of shoes from a homeless home. He was was given a choice to go to jail or Camp Green Lake. He chose the camp and was sent to dig holes all day. He ended up making new friends which he never had. I would give this book a 5 out of 5. Its a really good book. Haha you guys should read ;D

  28. Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

This book is about a middle school but (Greg Heffley) dealing with drama everyday for a year. So his mom decides he's going to write a diary entry for each day to show what he did that day.
He shows these events by a book full of comics.

I personally didn't like the book because I'm not a big fan of comedy. I enjoy romance/fantasy more. But overall, it was an okay book.

I suggest that kids anywhere from elementary to even middle school could read this. But the high school kids could read something harder such as P.C and Kristen Cast or even Stephanie Mayers because this is a simple book with not a lot of words.

You cant compare that kind of trash with my book "Shit my Dad Says"! 30. Hey
I read the book Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks by Lauren Myracle and it was a pretty good book. It’s basically about 2 wealthy and privileged sisters in Atlanta Georgia that go to a Christian school. They help each other get through their dads hurtful jokes and perverted, mean kids. Anna, the younger sister, wants to fit in and she's all insecure about herself and her body. She thinks she's all grown up and tries to act that way and it get her is a lot of trouble. Carly, the narrator and older sister, wants to be different, but she's a little too over protective and thinks she's always right. It's funny because they have some really... weird conversations that always leave me smiling and the author has a really humorous tone in the way she writes. Anyways I rate it a 3.5 out of 5 (just because I thought some of it was some what superficial and some of the conversations were pointless).

I really don't recommend this book to guys just because I don’t think they’ll like it.
If your ok with some awkward girl conversations, and are a girl, I would recommend this book to you.

    Anyways
    Leave comments,
    Bye :)

  34. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
In this book Greg Heffley finds himself put into middle school, where undersized weaklings are next to kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving.Greg has a trusty sidekick named Rowley, But when Rowley's points go up and Gregs stay the same, Greg tries to use his best friend’s new found awesomeness to his own gain.

I like this book and thing that it is a userfull book to get because it is easy to read and for people like me that dont like to read it is mostly pictures and captions. The perfect audience for this book is 7th graders that want an easy reading book or 5th graders that like comics.

It is enjoyable to read and I Like it.

Honestly I didn’t like any of the sisters over the other. At times I liked one more then the other. Anna is superficial and needy while Carly is out there and overbearing. So I choose neither.

  37. Hi i'm Nicole Sowers from Mr. Yablon's Period 2 class.
The book i read is Artemis Fowl(1) By Eion Colfer
It's mainly about Artemis Fowl(Criminal mastermind)kidnapping a fairy(Holly Short, captain of the LEP recon squad)and ransoming her for gold.
I loved that book! i read all of them and am re-reading them now! They were hilarious! Artemis is intelligent, but has NO social skills, making it even better!
I recommend this book for the more mature of audiences, not because of adult content, but because the vocabulary is for an older audience.

  40. Hi! This is my review for the book- Millie's Fling
    Author : Jill Mansell
Summary : Millie Brady starts out as a naive and indecisive woman who lives in the town of Cornwall. Her character drastically changes as her life is being narrated by the best-selling author Orla Hart...and how did this all come to be? Well, that's simple. First of all, Millie finds herself facing relationship complications with her boyfriend while sitting in his car, asking her to move in with him.The next thing she knows, Millie's gaze is shifting to an interesting scene containing a famous writer strolling along the edge of the steepest cliff in Cornwall while excessively smoking cigarettes. One thought comes to mind-suicide.Millie manages to convince the heartbroken author to see sense and to sum it all up, Orla repays her by narrating her life with more detail than Millie's own journal can provide. Along with this, Orla is encouraging her to make new relationships with the opposite gender.
Evaluation : I thought this book was very entertaining and definitely worth reading because it expresses an unusual situation with plenty of humor. I would give this book a 4.75 stars out of 5.
Recommendation : The "perfect audience" for this book would range from an age group of teens and older, and for people with no lives who enjoy reading about others' lives.
Thanks for reading. Please leave a comment! : )

This book is about one kid named Greg Heffley and his crazy life has many funny twists to it. Like his father Frank Heffley tries to get him tougher so he participate in his school wrestling team. Greg does not like the sound of that. All and all i think this book is a 8 out of 10. I recommend this book to a wide range of age. this book is hilarious. please leave a comment.-Osvaldo Rodriguez period 6 Mr.Yablon

  44. Hey its Kendyl and i read "Marley and Me" by John Grogan.
Summary: This was a very funny, and great book. Marley is an "untrainable", crazy, dog that has too much energy. John and Jenny (newly weds) decided to get a dog before having children to prepare themselves, but had no clue that Marley would be such a pain in the neck! He has destroyed so many things in the house and have embarrassed John and Jenny so much. He has some very funny moments and it made me laugh out loud! There is only one sad part at the end,but the rest is hilarious!
Evaluation: I think over all this is a great book, that is well written! It will make you laugh and cry at the same time! It is one of the best book I have read!
Recommendations: I would recommend this book to animal lovers, who have some crazy stories in their past with their animal! You dont have to have an animal to like this book, but it is much easier to relate, and you actually feel like you are there with the characters. I dont think you should read this if you cant handle putting an animal down.

  45. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

This book is a story about a boy growing up in St. Petersburg, Missouri. This boy, Tom can get himself into or out of trouble in a flash. Like the time he was punished and had to spend his Saturday whitewashing a fence, through his smooth talking he got every kid in the neighborhood to PAY HIM so they could paint part of the fence. Out of it he got off his punishment, four coats of paint on the fence and he got the following: an apple core, a kite, a dead rat attached to a string, twelve marbles, part of a jew’s-harp, a piece of blue glass, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn’t unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six firecrackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob, a dog collar-but no dog-the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange peel, and a dilapidated old window sash.

I think that while some parts are funny that the book is overall very boring, I don’t know how old Tom is or anybody else but they must be in like 2nd grade because they are all very naïve. In addition to they live in Missouri right next to Alabama (inside you’ll only get it if you’re in Mrs. Milliken’s per. 2 class.) I think the book is definitely worth over looking.

I would recommend this to anyone who hates laughter and loves Alabama.

    With no love,
    Chris Leininger

  48. Sh*t My Dad Says

    By Justin Halpern

Twenty eight year old Justin Halpern found himself living at home with his seventy three year old Dad, after being dumped by his longtime girlfriend. Justin Halpern grew up with a crazy dad who would seem to manage to slip cus words everytime he opened his mouth. The special and unique part about this, is that it's deadly hilarious. His son, noticed this and when he came back to live with his dad again, he could not help it make a list of every darn funny thing his dad said. After all this time, his dad had not changed a bit. Now, the author is very successful with the money he has made from the sales of his book.

Sh*t my Dad Says, is a book that allowed me to realize that this world is filled with families and parents that have very odd ways of dealing with their lives and families. This book mentions jokes that I sort of understand and realize they contain humor that is mostly adult oriented. This book is also filled with a little foul language and jokes that I don't recommend for kids who are under the age of 14. I give this book 3 1/2 out of 5 stars and hope you get the chance to read this book and make sense of the crazy humor adults enjoy.

This book is about a boy named Greg who is in middle school and a total outkast. He is not understood by teachers and parents. To make things worse he has to write in a journal to show his feelings. What could be worse than having a "diary" in his hands. So Greg and his usual best friend Rowley are trying to fit into middle school and live their lives.

  56. My Book was a waste of time. It was called The Day My Butt Went Phsyco. It was about a boy whose butt ran away from him, and he spends a full night on an epic journey to get his butt back. There are explosive buttcanoes, giant unwiped butts, buttmobiles, and flying crap. Recommendation: As weird as this book looks, keep it on the shelf, where it belongs. Unless you are a lifeless sap taking up space, don't read it.

  60. My book was called YOU SUCK- by Christopher Moore.
It begins in the vast and popular San Francisco city, where few vampires are dwelling without much notice except for few who know their secret. Tommy and Jody, who are vampires and live together in a loft, not long ago were humans. When Tommy met the vamp Jody, he slowly became the source of where she got her blood supply, since afterall he was a human. But soon after the days of Jody only providing herself with a minimum supply of Tommy's blood, she decides so change him into a vampire herself. Together as vampires created problems. Where were they going to get their blood? They used to be human not long ago, and they wouldn't kill an innocent person. But soon they get a 16 year old goth teenager "minion" to slave around for them. In the end, she ends up helping them pull together their lives as vampires, and soon wants to be one too.

In my opinion I thought this book was worth the while and a great example of a comedy book.

I would recommend this novel to the type of people who are creative and can handle writing that sometimes puts out uncomfortable situations and also extremely strange context. For example, sometimes the author writes about different kinds of events that might seem strange and unusual. I think people who could understand sarcasm well, and also enjoy fiction novels would like YOU SUCK.

  65. Hello my name is Neilson Reyes (per.2) and I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid RODRICK RULES by Jeff Kinney. This book is mainly about how Greg, who is a seventh grader and his life as being one. A quick summary on this book is Greg’s relationship between him and his brother Rodrick. Something explaining this is when you get threw a couple of pages and find and a drawing that Manny draws, which is their little brother. He draws a picture of both Greg and Rodrick fighting, but when his parents find it they take as if it where them. Another explanation of this is when you get threw a little lower than half of the book and Rodrick gives Greg and Rowley drum lessons, because his mom told him to. Rodrick does not even care what Greg and his friend is doing as long as they stay out of his way and the only reason he is doing it is for the money. But, that all change when his brother get made fun of during the school talent show in the end. Greg feels bad for him and helps him on his science project to get an A on it.
This book told me that however much you dislike someone you always got a spot for them in your heart. I thought that this book was a 2 and a half stars out of five considering that it was not really as funny as I thought as I would thought it would be. I recommend this book to 7th graders or higher because most people that are below those ages do not get the story very much and people who have an older sibling that’s picks on them.
P.S. you will not get the story of this book if have not read the 1st book

  68. Hi, this is Mia Reyes (period 5). I read Fly on the Wall by E.Lockhart. This book is about a girl named Gretchen who is insecure. She wishes that she could be a "fly on the wall" to see what people are really like. The next day, her wish comes true. She realizes that she is at her high school and decides to listen to everyone’s conversations. She ends up finding out that other kids feel just like her. After a week of living a fly’s life, Gretchen wakes up as her normal self. I think that it's a funny book, although it has some inappropriate content at times. I would recommend it to any girl who is insecure about herself or for anyone who wants to read something funny.

  76. Hello, my name is Sarah Borenstein. I read The Regulators by Richard Bachman. Though the overall genre of this book was “horror,” I found it to be hilarious at times. It was written in 3rd person omniscient, so the story plays out through the eyes of at least 20 different characters all of which played victims to the scheme of a sadistic ancient spirit that shares the body and mind of only a select few people.
Nicknamed Tak, the spirit piggybacked onto the life of 8 year old and autistic Seth Garrin. Tak uses the TV shows and movies Seth likes as inspiration for his scheme. No one in the town knows of Tak (save Seth and Seth’s aunt/guardian Audrey Wyler), so all the neighbors are confused and deathly afraid when futuristic cars begin to cruise down Poplar Street and shoot everyone and everything in sight while the world around them slowly changes into a dry and deadly desert complete with disfigured coyotes, strange-looking vultures, and even mutated cacti that leave them with one of two options: life, or a brutal death.
If I remember correctly, at least 13 people and a dog are killed throughout the course of the story. I would not recommend this book to people who are easily scared or have a weak stomach. The book also contains some more mature content and a good amount of strong language. I enjoyed reading The Regulators, but it was not my most favorite book out of all that I’ve ever read. Therefore, I’d give it 3.75 out of 5 stars. I did, however, like the book enough to want to read the next one.

  85. The book I read was Zombie Butts From Uranus by Andy Griffiths.
Zack Freemaan and his butt (who can talk) is trying to be a butt-fighter but after failing the Simulator and getting yelled at his coach the ''The Kicker'' he had decided to quit.Though his friend Silias tries convince him not to, but he still leaves. After going back to his home he meets Eleanor who also tries to make him stay but fails as well, but on the way he meets a Blind-Butt-Feeler who can tell him his future by touching his butt. Meanwhile, his parents had found the Great White Bum that Zack destroyed (from the first book) they had accidently revived and get themselves and their butts zombiefied. As he returns home he finds out that his home had been by a Butt-Blitzan (An attack by 2,000 butts from air, ground,or sea.)He finds his grandmother had killed them all with he butt-fighting skills the eleanor comes and saves then from dying by more butts. When they return to the Academy Silias and Kicker are both zombiefied. But Zacks parents had also died because they had resisted control so they were killed by the Great white butt. With no options they strike a deal with the maggot lord The Butt-Kisser (litteraly) to make a brown hole and to teleport them to Uranus but who betrays them at the end but his minions are zombiefied and eat him instead. The kisser did activate the brown hole which Zack uses his butt to fart causing the methane gas on Uranus to make his butt a living flmaethrower which pushes The Great White Butt in to the hole. Eleanor,Zack, and his grandmother are stuck there for a week surviving on the base where Zack's parents died but eleanor suffers space madness butt is calmed down by a fart from Zack's butt which also revives his parents in a mysterious way so they return home with a space ship his parents repaired. At the Academy The Kicker apologizes to Zack because he had accidently set the level of the Simulator too high from an infection from not cleaning his hands after every misson he does so he gives Zack a medal and his graduation Certificate but he tells everyone to give a moment of silence for the fallen but his butt Farts which interupts it.
The book had its moments but I really dont like it and most of it to me wasnt really funny.
I would not recommend this book because the storyline wasnt really good and not really funny.

  88. Hey yo people! It's Kayla here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read Couples Counseling: The After Happily Ever After Edition. This play is by Vanessa Marano.

So basically it's about different Disney Princes and Princesses who have marriage issues. Snow White is a HUGE control freak with a HUGE mouth to match in the play. If you're even a milisecond late for something she has planned her physco side comes out. And her husband Prince Shannon gets about 8 minutes of speaking in every day. Another horrendous couple would be Belle and Beast. Beast treats Belle like dirt and she doesn't to anything thing to stop him. He's rude and cruel. Period. Atleast Jasmine and Aladdin are okay. Oh wait, they aren't either. Jasmine and Abu (Aladdin's pet monkey) literally try to kill eachother! And believe or not the picturesque couple (Cinderella and Prince Charming) evn have problems. Prince Charming is the most conceited person in the world. He can't go 5 seconds without looking in the mirror! Lastly their is Ariel and Prince Eric. Whenever Ariel gets upset she acts like a fish. To add to that Prince Eric's parents serve her fish whenever she comes to visit!

I actually liked this play. It's really funny even if it does seem juvenile. I mean, come on! Who doest love to poke fun at other's problems!!

I would reccommend this to girls looking for a laugh. I mean unless you guys are into the whole Disney Princess thing...

    Ciao!!!

    Thanks :)

The book wasn’t really funny (although that’s a matter of opinion) the “funny parts” were really just the most ridiculous like getting kids to pay him so they could paint a fence or how he tries to marry someone or how he runs away to be a pirate, etc it goes on and on the whole book is like that not any chapters relate

And to answer your other question the libarians gave me a stack of books and Tom Sawyer sounded the funniest plus it was a classic so I figured that was a bonus

Greg Heffley was never the dorkiest kid in school but he was certainly not the most popular. Now Greg has a plan to change that and become the most popular boy in school . But the real question is will his best friend Rowley stop him from that?

The book I read was 'Crash'
    The author was Jerry Spinell.

    Summary

This is a story about a kid called Crash Cogan. He got his name at Christmas when he recevied a football helmet and ran into the wall with it on. He became a big football superstar who picked on his neighbor Penn Webbs. His football buddy Mike Deluca also picked on Penn. As time passes Crash grows closer to Penn, and further from Mike.

Then Crash's Grandfather has a stroke and his sister becomes a nature freak who he can't relate to. He has alot going on. With all of the confusion in his mind what will happen next?

    Evaluation

I think this book had a confusing story line. Other than Crash the book doesn't explain why the other poeple act the way they do.The author does not make it seem belivable that Crash would leave the popular kids to hang around with Penn, even though he hated Penn in the begining of the story. Fisrt, he loved wearing new clothes, but later, for no apparent reason, he started wearing old used clothes. It is a hard story to follow.

    Recommendation

I recommend this book to people who like stories about freindship and sports. Also, if you like strange endings you would like this book. This book also has alot of funny pranks and alot of prolems at once which young readers would like. 5/6/11

  113. The book Freaky Friday is a comedy about a mother and daughter who switch minds. It was written by Mary Rodgers back in 1973. They start the story fighting a lot. Then one morning they both wake up with their mind in the other’s body. The book is about how they deal with each other’s lives and the messes they get into. Two of my favorite messes were the parent conference and the visit to the ice cream shop. It was quite funny to see how a 13 year old girl handles grown up responsibility. Each person gets to appreciate each other’s life. It is not as easy as they thought. When they finally switch back they get along better than ever. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

  114. Dear Kayla,
The scariest part of my book probably had to be after the third shooting. One of the character's friends had been visiting the day of the shooting and so as everyone ran inside for safety, she fell. Another character had to leap over her to get inside. He felt really bad about it, especially when she wouldn't get up. So he went to take her inside and he lifted up her head and her entire face was gone. It was very descriptive and I guess it wasn't as SCARY as it was DISTURBING.....well you know what I mean.

Every so often, the things people would say would just force me to laugh really hard. Also, when you are in the middle of a life or death situation with no in between, you would not believe the things some people will think of or realize at the strangest times. It ranges from "Oh NO! I forgot to put the lid back on the toothpaste!" to "You're the one who killed my son!" I guess you just would have to read it but please, PLEASE don't read. Not you at least. Trust me.

  122. Hi, I'm Asher Gevisser and I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Ugly Truth by Jeff Kinney. This is the 5th book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The book is about a kid named Greg Heffley and his journey to survive in middle school. It doesn't really have a plot to it, but has many hilarious sub events within it. The main focus on this book in the series is basically about Greg growing up, but he isn't really ready to yet. He has to face boy girl parties, annoying family members, and all without his best friend Rowley Jefferson at his side.

Evaluation: I thought that this book was amazingly written. It had me laughing on every single page and was also very witty, smart, and clever.

Recommendation: I recommend this book o anybody who could really use some laughs and a book that is not boring. Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Ugly Truth is truly a book you will not want to stop reading.

  124. Hello this is Maria (masha) chumakova and i read The Princess Bride. The book is basically about a beautiful woman named Buttercup lives on a farm in the country of Florin. She delights in verbally abusing the farm hand Westley, refering to him as “farm boy,” by demanding that he perform chores for her. Westley's only answer is “As you wish”, which represents his great affection for her. After Buttercup realizes the true meaning of the words, as well as the fact that she returns his love, Westley leaves to seek his fortune so they can marry. Buttercup later receives word that his ship was attacked at sea by the Dread Pirate Roberts, who is notorious for killing all those whose vessels he boards. Believing Westley to be dead, Buttercup is forcibly engaged to marry Prince Humperdinck, the heir to the throne of Florin.
Princess Buttercup is then kidnapped by a trio of outlaws and is saved by a man in a mask. She later on finds out that the masked man is Westley. After escaping from the Fire swamp, they meet Prince Humperdinck and Westley is taken prisoner without Buttercup's knowledge.
Buttercup has nightmares about marrying Humperdinck and when she tells him this, he proposes that she should send a letter to Westley asking him to marry her and come back, if he ansers yes then Westley and Buttercup shall marry and if he answers no or does not answer at all within 4 weeks, then Buttercup shall marry Humperdinck.
After talking to princess Buttercup,Humperdinck is enraged and takes it out on Westley who is tortured daily ate the Zoo of Death. While in the state of complete madness, Humperdinck partially kills Westley.
After dying(in a way), Westley is saved by the miracle Max and two outlaws. On the night of the wedding, the prince decides to murder Buttercup. After discovering the evil plan to kill his beloved, Westley has a duel with prince Humperdinck and kills him.
The story ends there but another author wrote a sequel to the story and it's called Buttercup's Baby. There is also a movie based on the book.
I really enjoyed reading the Princess Bride because there was a lot of adventure and revenge going on and i really liked the author's description of Westley and Humperdinck.
I would recommend this book to lovers of comedy, adventure and romance novels.

Well, the excess cerebal spinal fluid gave him brain damage, which caused the stutter, lisp, and to top it all off, his hands, feet, and head were all completely disproportionate. The were huge, but he was really skinny. It also messed with his sight and caused him to have 42 adult teeth. He had to get the extra 10 pulled. Picture George Lopez's head on a skinny 14-year-old's body with Shaquille O'Neal's hands and feet with big, huge glasses. (To give you an idea of how big his feet were, he was a size 11 in 3rd grade.

Although there was a lot if death, there were only three deaths we heard about. These many deaths in a 216 page book leaves one death per 72 pages. Honestly, that's not all that much. I read the the book, the total tradegy of a girl named Hamlet by Erin Dionne

This book is about a girl named Hamlet(yes like a charecter in a shakspear play) her parents are shakspearean scholors, or basically a walking talking Rennisance faire. It didn't help that her seven year old sister goes to howard hoffner MIDDLE SCHOOL with her and befriend the mean girls at school so that she will do their history homework. So yea Hamlet has a lot to deal with on top of the fact that she has a secret admirer.

I recomend this book to anyone who can laugh, cry, and punch someone at the same time. Or anyone who is into a TON of drama.

I think the count and Prince Humperdinck use that big machine to take years off peoples' lives. I also like the part where Westley is wrestling with Fezzik! The outlaws are my favorite.... As for my book.... considering what I know you've read in the past, I think you could handle The Regulators. The only reason I don't want Mia to read it is because of some of the more adult-oriented content if you catch my drift....
Tak was not using "his" own body to do the shootings. He made a whole wirld out of his twisted imagination and everything he thought of was real. The futuristic cars and their drivers (from one of Seth's favorite TV shows) were doing the shooting, but if Tak got distracted or Seth took control of his body, everything (the cars, people, and scenery changes) would start to go away.

It's about Arthur Dent who was taken off earth by Ford Prefect because Ford was planning to destroy earth in order to make a galaxy freeway thru where earth was. Thru out the book Arthur and Ford met some new friends, including Zaphod Beeblebrox and Trillion McMillan. Arthur hitchhikes on a ship with Ford and while they are on that ship Ford gave Arthur a book called "Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy" to help him thru out the story. I would give this book 5 stars because the dialog is very funny and the bizarre adventures are hysterical. I read, "Ordinary Jack" by Helen Cresswell. It was about this ordinary guy named Jack. All or most of his family are clever, but he feels like he's just normal inside. Not so smart and not so dumb.
He's got a sister that always out-smarts him. He also got a dog that's named Zero. For Jack, Zero is the best dog an ordinary boy could have. He loves that dog! Jack also has an uncle named Uncle Parker. Parker is a practical joker, he has a plan for Jack...
I didn't really think this book is that good. It wasn't even funny at all. Obviously, it's not worth getting.

  155. Hello my name is Manuel Pinto and I read "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" by Jeff Kinney. This story is about a boy named Greg Heffley entering the 7th grade. He is basically trying to "survive the 7th grade" with his friend Rowley, but is also having problems at home such as his mom putting in a swear jar. His mom then gives all the money in the jar to Greg's little brother Manny. This book is not worth getting but is funny. I would recommend to go to the library and read it there. It has lots of pages but it is easy to read. Because of this i would recommend it to a younger audience.

  156. @Juan Hernandez It sounds like a really good book. Its about aliens and santa claus who doesnt love that combination? Hahaha. It sounds like a book i will go to the library to read or even buy it to keep

@Aaron Mayer It actually sounds like a good book. Some one running around trying to catch their butt. Sounds like a book to read at the library.

Now I understand why you disliked it so much. The funny parts were only supposed to be those? If so, how did they try to make that funny?

  158. I read the book catch-22 by Joseph Heller. It is about a man named Yossarian. Yossarian is a fighter pilot for the American Airforce. The setting takes place in a military camp during world war two. The conflict in the story is that Yossarian is infuriated because everyone in the war is trying to kill him for no reason and he does not see the meaning in that, that is what makes the book funny. I would recommend this book to a mature audience because the humor is sometimes hard to get and there are other things in the story that are not the best for younger people.

For the April comedy book I decided to read Diary of a Wimpy Kid written by Jeff Kinney. This book is about a middle schooler named Greg Heffley who is planning to make his way to the top of the popularity chart. However, one question, is his immature best friend, Rowley Jefferson, holding him back from shining? While Greg is plotting his plan to reach the top, is someone else already almost there? Throughout the story, emotions and characters change, yet they still keep it funny. Although, this book was very inspirational because things that happen in this story, do happen in reality. Diary of a Wimpy Kid made a fictional story, but placed possible real events.
This book was entertaining and kept me interested, therefore, I would strongly suggest this book to any comedy readers.
    Thanks:)

For my April book report, I read the book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney. The main character, Greg Heffley strives to become popular at his school. But his best friend from Elementary, Rowley Jefferson, an immature type of kid, is holding him back. As Greg is trying to become a little more known at school, Rowley becomes an obstacle. At times, I did laugh at the immatureness and contents of this book. The events in this book can happen in reality.
I would recommend this book strongly to kids in elementaries. I think that elementary kids would enjoy this book a lot more than middle schoolers because of the maturing difference.

The title of my book is "Butt Wars" (The Final Conflict) and it was written by Andy Griffiths.
Basically, Zach Freeman, the protagonist of the story, is trying to save the world from the "White Butts" that are taking over with their giant brown blobs.
These giant, brown, blobs are going to cause Buttageddon.
    Which is really gross.
In order, to save his people he must use his OWN butt and will have to hitch a ride in a time-traveling butt-mobile, back to the riegn of the prehistoric buttosaurs.
Of course like in every other children's book, the hero saves the day once again!
Though in order to fill in to the fun and detail of this comedy book, you should read it.
Personally, I thought "Butt Wars" (The Final Conflict)wasn't bad at all. Even with all the funny yet disturbing parts of this story, it kept me entertained.
    Overall, I enjoyed it.
This book was meant for kids and not so much for adults. Why? Well, i don't think adults would understand all the words and names Andy Griffiths came up with...such as, "buttosaurs" and "abutterated."
I would give my book five stars[:

  177. I read Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

This is about a middle school boy Named Greg who wants to be part of the "cool kids". But his mom thinks he should write a diary every day. He also has a older brother who's life goal is to make him miserable. Greg also has a best friend named Rowley who is a little childish.

I would rate this book this book 3 out of 5 stars. The reason is because I liked the story but it is really short. It would be better if it was a bit longer. Also sometimes the story would go all over the place. But overall it was a good story.

I would reccomend this to kids in elementary or kids who are into comedy books. The reason is because the story Is not the Kind of story a high schoolers would read. So I think this would be perfect for kids in elementary. That's it. P.S this is Tyler Gener if it doesn't show.

Many millions of miles away from were Zack Freeman was, on the other side of the solar system a tiny yellow spark flew through the freezing depths of space. But it wasn't a spark it was a BUTT!An enormous white butt. it was no ordinary butt it was the great white butt but it wasn't happy in fact it was super mad.it hit the earth furious. This great white butt came from a blue planet. He had a plan to destroy the whole world with an explosion but that didn't work so he invaded earth with nasty, stinky blue butts. and now its up to Zack to put an end to the stink problem. by hailey garrison

diary of a wimpy kid is a book about a kid named greg heffley who tries to be popular but fails because of his nerdy best friend rowley jefferson. throughout the book he faces many challenges involving girls, guys, sports, and his own family.
i would rate this book a 7 out of 10 because it was well written but wasn't really age appropriate.
i would recommend this book to 3rd-5th grader.
